My name is Octavia Endischee. I am a film student at Arizona State University focusing on directing. As an artist, I want to make films based on who I am and where I'm from. I am passionate about making films that represent the beauty of my culture and people.

Why your donations matter

.

Growing up I have always had a passion for representing my culture and sharing my stories, and film gives me the opportunity to do that. Where I come from is very important to me and I want to share unique experiences with the world. I am Navajo and I am from the Navajo Reservation, I was raised traditional in my culture and I learned so many teachings and stories that helped me guide to who I am today.

This project is important to me because it reflects Indigenous communities today. Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women is an important advocate because it represents the minority of Native women and girls who have unshared stories. I wanted to make this film because as of today, Indigenous women are at high rate of disappearances and assault. Many people today are not aware of this important issue and from creating this project, it'll allow me to spread some light upon it.
